In Cross Cultures we usually say that it is the environment that connects children to our sport. Correspondingly, this workshop is about discussing:

Correspondingly, this workshop is about discussing:
What is a good childrens football environment?
The workshop is organized in four steps:
FIRST: Workshop presentation, 10 minutes
SECOND: Semi-structured interviews, 40 minutes
THIRD: Group discussions, 20 minutes
FOURTH: Summary and conclusions in plenum, 20 minutes
Instruction
STEP 1: INTERVIEWS AND ROTATIONS (40 MINUTES)

- All participants are divided into groups of 10 and seated on chairs facing each other in pairs as illustrated above.
- The participants seated on the chairs no. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, are given a sheet with a prepared question. On a given signal chair no 1 are asked to interview the participant seated on chair A of the specific question. Chair 2 will interview chair B. Chair 3 will interview chair C etc.
- The interviewer notes the main answers to his/her interview schedule.
- After 3 minutes the facilitator stop the interview and asks the participants sitting on position A, B, C, D and E to rotate one chair to the right (A to B; B to C; C to D; D to E and E to A)
- When the participants have found their new positions the facilitator give signal for a new interview round of three minutes.
The workshop continues this way until all partici- pants have been interviewed on all 5 questions
STEP 2: GROUP DISCUSSIONS (20 MINUTES)
When the interviews are well done all participants sitting on position 1 and A form a group together, and their task is now to agree on the three most important answers to question number 1.
Likewise, all participants sitting on position 2 and B form a group together, and their task is to discuss and agree on the three most important answers to their question. … etc.
STEP 3: SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS IN PLENUM (20 MINUTES)
Finally, all participants meet and one or two represen- tatives of each group sum up their conclusions in plenum.

- What constitutes a good childrens environment
- Howcanwecreateagoodchildren’senvironment?
- What are the most important issues for small players in children’s football?
- What are the most important issues for us as adult leaders if we would like our children to play football?
- How can we cooperate with football clubs, local authorities, parents and others when organizing football for children?
REQUIRED MATERIALS:
- Chairs that are lined up for interviews as showed above.
- Prepared questions that are handed out to the participants (1 question per paper)
- Pencils
- Tables for and chairs for group discussions Flip over and marker pencil for each group.
